EV & Hybrid Verified garages
Electric and hybrid cars carry battery packs at voltages that will kill someone who opens them without the right training and the right tools. Most workshops are not equipped for that work, and almost none of them say so.
EV & Hybrid Verified means a person at GarageIQ has looked at documented evidence that a garage can do high-voltage work safely — not that the garage told us it can.
What a garage has to show
Loading the criteria…
A verification lasts 12 months, then has to be earned again. Certifications expire and certified technicians move on; a badge that never lapses would slowly become a claim about a garage that used to be equipped.
What it does not mean
It does not mean the garage paid for placement, because that is not something GarageIQ sells. The badge carries no ranking weight at all. A verified garage sits exactly where its review evidence puts it — the badge lets drivers filter to garages that hold it, and it changes nothing about the order of what comes back. Any fee covers the cost of reviewing the evidence and re-reviewing it annually, and no garage that meets the bar is refused.
It is also not a warranty. It says a garage is equipped and trained for high-voltage work; how well they do that specific job is what their trust score is for.
